Introduction to Uttaranchal University

Uttaranchal University was founded by the Uttarakhand Legislature through the Uttaranchal University Act 2012 (Uttarakhand Act No. 11 of 2013) in 2013. With an A+ grade in the first cycle of accreditation, UU made history as an NAAC (National Assessment & Accreditation Council) approved institution and recognized by UGC (University Grants Commission) under sections 2 (f) and 12 (B) of the UGC 1950 and other National and State governing bodies.

With the help of MSME the University has also provided assistance to enterprises in Uttarakhand and North India through the Intellectual Property Facilitation Center. The University’s commitment to business, innovation, and research has earned it recognition as an MSME Host Institution.

The International Council of Circular Economy has given the university a Sustainability Award in recognition of its pioneering work in sustainable practices. National and international government bodies have granted the university’s teachers and students more than 100 intellectual property rights. The inclusion of the SDSN South Asia Network demonstrates its commitment to advancing sustainability and important research in the area.

Under UNSDG Goal 7: Affordable & Clean Energy UU was placed 5th domestically and 25th worldwide by Times Higher Education World Impact Rankings, a world ranking agency located in the United Kingdom. The Uttaranchal University (UU) offers a range of training programs to prepare students for the industrial world. The UU-Skill-Up initiative overseen by the CRC Department focuses on polishing students’ skills and guiding them towards their career journey. Admission & Scholarship

Uttaranchal University offers a merit-based admission process through an application form. Eligibility criteria must be checked before applying for a course. There are various scholarships available like merit scholarships, Uttarakhand State Domicile scholarships, hill state domicile scholarships, alumni scholarships, scholarships to siblings and Sushila Devi scholarships.

Meanwhile merit scholarships offer 10-30% off on tuition fees, but no scholarships are available for MBA Executive, Bsc Nursing, or Diploma & Certification in Hotel Management. Uttarakhand State Domicile scholarships offer 25% off on tuition fees while hill state domicile scholarships also offer 25% off. Sushila Devi scholarships provide 5% off net tuition fees for girls in Uttarakhand and all India categories and 5% scholarships for the son or daughter of a Ward of Defence personnel.

Alumni scholarships in UU offer up to 10% for the first year while scholarship to siblings provides 10% off on tuition fees for the first year. Students can only avail one scholarship at the time of admission. An affidavit signed by parents or legal guardians is required to accept scholarship rules.

Scholarships are provided based on verification of documents, and the university can cancel if incorrect documents are provided. Uttaranchal University offers a simple admission process in both offline or online mode.
